Environmental Services Technician II - PM ($21.00/hour: $19.00 base + $2.00 Shift Differential)

POSITION SUMMARY: Performs janitorial services, floor care, laundry, sorting and handling of hazardous materials, stockroom activities, meeting
room set-ups, moving furniture, transportation of items & providing support to other departments.

Essential Functions Statement(s):

1. Performs janitorial activities to provide a clean and safe environment at designated facilities.
2. Follows and maintains hazardous materials storage process and procedures.
3. Follows and maintains laundry process and procedures.
4. Performs meeting room set-ups at various facilities.
5. Supports stockroom activities.
6. Completes all required paperwork, checklists and forms accurately and promptly.
7. Performs material handling duties such as moving furniture or assisting in the transporting of materials from one location to another.
8. Demonstrates knowledge in proper and safe operation of all company issued tools and equipment.
9. Routinely leads a team of night crew workers in the performance of assigned duties according to a schedule set by the EVS PM Supervisor or the EVS Manager.
10. Responsible for following after-hours security measures at all facilities to include notifying
    alarm companies prior to entry, locking exterior doors and setting alarms when departing.
11. Drives and travels throughout San Diego County. Must meet Goodwill and DMV
    requirements.
12. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.

Experience: Requires specific skill and direct experience or 2 years of GISD experience in Environmental Services including but not limited to janitorial services, hazardous material handling, laundry, stockroom activities & furniture moving.

Certificates and licenses: Valid CA Driver’s License with driving record acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance company required. EVS Technicians meeting these criteria will be required to operate company vehicles.

Other: Must meet the background check requirements of the department.
