    POSITION SUMMARY:Trains and develops employees to increase their skills, talents, and potentials to help increase their employability in fulfilling the mission.  Accomplishes this by facilitating training courses and onboardings as well as demonstrating operational procedures.

    Essential Functions Statement(s):

    1. Provides on the job operational training for paid trainees during the first month of hire.
    2. Monitors progress of paid trainees during the remaining two months and recommends additional training as needed. Works with supervisor to ensure plan is being followed.
    3. Provides input on weekly evaluations and all other paperwork for the paid trainees to the Learning & Development Manager.
    4. Reviews the progress of new employees during the first 90 days of hire.
    5. Becomes an expert on all operational procedures for stores, donation centers and any other department involved in the paid training program.
    6. Facilitates Level 1 classroom training and on-boarding program.
    7. Updates, edits and develops Level 1 training for checklists, eLearnings, job aids, and classroom trainings.
    8. Maintains a safe, organized, efficient and neat work area. Safeguards company property and abides by all safety procedures.
    9. Provides excellent customer service to our employees before, during and after each training.
    10. Promotes, demonstrates, and role models the core values including professionalism, cooperation, interpersonal skills, and teamwork with all interactions with employees and departments at all times.
    11. Participates in department meetings as scheduled.
    12. Contributes to the goals of the Learning & Development Team in order to meet or exceed performance measures.
    13. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.




    Education:  Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.


    Experience: Two to four years related experience


    Computer skills:  Email, Microsoft Office Systems.


    Certificates & Licenses: CPR and First Aid Certificates. Must have car, valid CA Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to GISD's insurance company.


    Amount of Travel: 30%
