  • Overview

    POSITION SUMMARY: Direct all activities required to achieve goals, including sales and profit objectives, customer service, payroll and operating expenses, loss prevention, and merchandise presentation. Responsible for the overall training, development, retention, wage and hour compliance and satisfactorily addressing employee relation issues of all store staff. May be required to move to any Goodwill store throughout San Diego County.

    Essential Function Statements:

    1. Responsible for achieving revenue goals in assigned district utilizing tools provided and analyzing each store’s market, sales trends, labor, expenses, customer service, morale, production, culture and overall performance.  Provide feedback and documentation on concerns/issues and plan of action to senior management.
    2. Ensures store managers are implementing and following organizational initiatives.
    3. Coordinate, report, and make recommendations to senior management to grow market share, improve customer experience, and drive growth.
    4. Ensures each site delivers value and excellence to customers and staff. Responds to all inquiries and complaints.
    5. Directs research, inspections, investigations, and supports Loss Prevention when necessary. Provides written reports as needed.
    6. Ability to run a store, perform daily functions and provide coverage when necessary.
    7. Assist and makes recommendations in the hiring process, transfers, promotions, and terminations.  Provides strong leadership, training and development for management. Utilizes annual evaluations and 5-minute goal setting conversations to develop store managers.
    8. Provides guidance and training to staff on sales practices, strategic thinking, donations, merchandising standards, pricing and quality control, P&Ls, budgets, customer service and employee relations or concerns.
    9. Accepts and participates in other activities or duties as directed including store openings and reviewing, writing or modifying policies and procedures.

    Qualifications

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

     

    Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required. Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing preferred. 

     

    Experience: Minimum of ten years related experience. 

     

    Computer Skills: Email, internet use, Microsoft word and Excel. 

     

    Certificates & Licenses: Must have a valid CA Driver’s License, proof of insurance and driving record acceptable by Goodwill’s insurance company. Current CPR & First Aid Certificate is preferred. 

     

    Other Requirements: Ability to supervise multiple stores with upwards of 100 people.  Must be up to date with all Employment and Wage and Hour Laws. Attends training as needed or directed.
