POSITION SUMMARY: Oversees the functioning of designated Goodwill Industries of San Diego County’s Community Employment Center. Ensures that clients are served at center in the job search efforts by understanding their employment interests, identifying their skills and qualifications, providing potential job leads, and assisting them in their action plan toward placement in employment. Guarantees that skill development workshops are offered regularly at employment centers so that job seekers have the opportunity to grow in their skill, talent, and potential. Role models how to coach and assist clients in their job pursuits. Responsible for meeting annual goals in serving, assisting, and placing clients.


Essential Functions Statements:


  1. Supervises, trains, and ensures that Career Advisor I are equipped to greet, assist, and assess the needs of clients who either call or visit the Community Employment Center.
  2. Ensures that the center is a friendly, safe, productive environment for the job seekers in their search process.
  3. Promotes, schedules, and conducts CEC workshops for clients and Goodwill Industry of San Diego County ambassadors.
  4. Ensures center is meeting its key performance indicators (enrollments, visits, placements etc) bi-monthly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.  Monitors progress on key performance indicators to identify trends and make adjustments to meet target goals.
  5. Assists Community Employment Manager in outreach to the community to promote the resources of the Community Employment Center to attract new clients.
  6. Assists Community Employment Manager and employers in identifying employment opportunities for clients and organizing career fairs.
  7. Responsible for meeting weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual goals.
  8. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.




Education: AA, BA, or BS preferred.


Experience: 3 years of experience in related field upon hire, or 3 to 5 years of GISD experience, or combination of past experience and GISD experience that equals 5 years.


Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills, MS Office, MS Project, email, internet.


Certificates and Licenses: Must have a valid CA driver’s license, proof of insurance and driving record acceptable by Goodwill’s insurance company. 


Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required.
