Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Essential Functions Statements:

  1. Researches trends in Information Technology, proposes new solutions for organizational business processes, and follow through with implementation as directed by supervisor.
  2. Collects input from stakeholders and collaborates to achieve organizational goals, including surveys, training, and administration of new processes.
  3. Maintains excellent working knowledge of and follows applicable current technology related policies, procedures, certification requirements, regulations, laws, trends and practices.
  4. Designs software to implement new processes and changes to existing processes to automated inefficient maintenance and business processes.
  5. Documents project proposals to clearly communicate technical and procedural requirements and ramifications of new processes and changes to existing processes.
  6. Utilizes advanced automation tools to develop new processes using scripting and programming languages such as C#, PowerShell, and HTML/CSS/JavaScript as appropriate.
  7. Works independently and remain consistently productive on long term projects.
  8. Documents processes in standard organization procedure format for distribution within and outside of the department.
  9. Provides support for issues with applications documented through Helpdesk Ticket System, while communicating with external stakeholders in a professional and meaningful manner.
  10. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed by supervisor.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

Education: Associates degree from two-year college or university preferred. Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have knowledge of computer hardware and software systems and programs, computer networks, network administration, network installation, computer troubleshooting, computer viruses and security, E-mail and internet programs, an understanding of the GISD economic and cultural environment.

 

Experience: Experience must demonstrate effective handling of a variety of priorities and timelines; attention to detail and accuracy in performing work; effective communication with diverse groups/individuals; effective customer service skills.

 

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully the following computer proficiency is (are) required:  Adobe Photoshop; Internet Explorer; Microsoft Access; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft PowerPoint; Microsoft Publisher; Microsoft Visio; Microsoft Word; See other required technology skills and qualifications identified under "Other Requirements."

 

Certificates & Licenses: Valid California Driver’s License with driving record acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance. 

 

Other Requirements: Knowledge of and experience with: Amazon Web Services; Azure, Networking; Virtualization; Windows Server Environment (including Hyper-V); Microsoft SQL Server; Internet Information Services; back-up systems;network/workstation peripherals; firewalls, spam, & anti-virus hardware/software; PHP, C#, Javascript, HTML, Cascading Style Sheets; computer hardware (servers, provisioning, and replacing hardware).
