Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for assisting the Manager in the daily operations of the department including revenue and production goals, employee relations, compliance and administrative duties. Able to assume responsibility for daily operations in the absence of the Manager.

Essential Functions Statements:

  1. Assists Manager in ensuring store revenues are achieved.
  2. Assists Manager in creating an environment where transformational leadership is applied. Assists in engaging, motivating and developing staff to increase productivity and achieve departmental goals.
  3. Assists Manager in ensuring employment relationship issues are resolved according to the organization’s best practices, culture, core values, and in accordance with employment relationship laws and regulations.
  4. Ensures Supervisors prepare and effectively communicate daily assignments and other information to the team as directed by Manager. Ensures team huddles, exercises, and trainings are performed as directed.
  5. Ensures the time and attendance of ambassadors is monitored. Assists Manager in providing support and direction to Supervisors when expectations are not met.
  6. Ensures that performance goals and work quality standards are met. Assists Manager in providing support and direction to Supervisors when expectations are not met.
  7. Ensures that behavior/conduct standards are met. Assists Manager in providing support and direction to Supervisors when expectations are not met.
  8. Ensures that GISD policy and procedures are followed. Assists Manager in providing support and direction to Supervisors when expectations are not met.
  9. Assists Manager in ensuring the work environment is supplied, safe, clean, organized, and well-maintained. Reports any concerns or issues in a prompt and timely manner.
  10. Assists Manager in providing support and direction to supervisors in preparing and delivering performance evaluations, 5-minute goal setting conversations, progressive discipline, and other department paperwork/documentation.
  11. Assists Manager in ensuring timely completion of all tasks/projects assigned to supervisors.
  12. Resolves complex issues that arise from production/processing errors and identifies areas for continuous improvement and training.
  13. Addresses complex customer inquiries according to department guidelines and identifies areas for continuous improvement and training.
  14. Able to perform work activities of subordinates at a high level of production and quality.
  15. Safeguards company property, including donated goods.
  16. Follows direction and completes other projects as assigned.
  17. Opens and closes location(s) according to department guidelines.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

Education: High School Diploma or GED required; AA, Certification in related field, BA or BS degree preferred.

 

Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in related field upon hire or 5 years of GISD experience in level 4 or 5 position, or combination of past experience and GISD experience equaling 5 years.

 

Certificates & Licenses: Must have a CA Driver’s License and driving record acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance company requirements. Must also have an insured, reliable vehicle.
