Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assists Payroll Supervisor with the daily activities of the Payroll Department.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Compiles payroll data such as hours worked, sick and vacation, employee identification number, supervisor signature from time sheets and other records.
  2. Runs payroll input reports to identify entry errors on time card adjustments base on payroll time corrections; Leave of Absence report, retro partial rate of pay and department changes and adjustments using payroll log.  
  3. Enters data into ADP payroll batch to compute additional retro, partial payments, and post them into payroll records based on pay period in order to comply with wage and hour law.
  4. Serves as backup to process wage orders, reconcile benefits, prepare month-end and quarter-end reports, process manual checks, and  transmit payroll.
  5. Reviews wages computed and correct errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
  6. Records data concerning transfer of employees between departments.
  7. Prepares manual checks for terminated employees, and notifies benefits of COBRA continuation.
  8. Provides payroll information to outside agencies requested by mail or fax.
  9. Keeps IRS W-4, W-5 and D-4 records filed and purged.
  10. Maintains all electronic payroll files including Quarterly and Year End reports.
  11. Prepares weekly reports of lunch premiums, missing M&RPFF, First and Second
  12. Waiver signed by ambassador’s/supervisors..    
  13. Prepares reports for Wage and Hour Compliance, audits all payroll forms submitted, and sends reports to Key Leaders and Executive Team.
  14. Maintains and audits vacation and sick leave accruals, sending notification to management
  15. Promptly provides information to all Goodwill Ambassadors regarding payroll issues.
  16. Reviews computer earnings register and edits lists and distributes paychecks to supervisors. Back up trainer for ADP Time and Attendance Wage & Hour presentation.
  17. Advises ADP users of all company policies and procedures, including wage and hour laws.
  18. Serves as backup to run requested ADP payroll and Time and Attendance reports such as YTD, Labor Report, and Quarterly Report.
  19. Keeps and tracks payroll & other files in our storage room
  20. Performs other miscellaneous duties as required or assigned.

 

Qualifications

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Education: Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school) preferred.

 

Experience: Three to five years or related experience

 

Computer Skills: MS Office Suite, Payroll, and Accounting related software.
