Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for instructing and coaching ambassadors including Paid Trainees to ensure skills are gained to perform the functions of their position. Instructing and coaching will include demonstration and feedback of essential functions, organizational standards, and position competencies. Supports the Career Pathway Program communicating with management the benefit of Leader Classes and encouraging them to enroll their ambassadors. Trains and facilitates f Onboarding and Leader Step Classes, assists in developing career pathway and operational curriculum. Takes the initiative in supporting the team in completing tasks. Performs operational duties as needed to develop the skills, talent, and potential of ambassadors.

Essential Functions Statement(s): 

 

  1. Supports Paid Trainees from start of program through completion. Duties include preparing onboarding checklists, coaching leadership skills, verifying job skills through station checklists, monitoring progress towards applying for jobs, getting trainee ready for graduation, and assisting with graduation day tasks.
  2. Collaborates with department management on needed resources and/or training strategies to support Paid Trainees succeed in performing the essential functions of the job.

 

  1. Meets with site managers prior to visiting with trainees to collaborate on training needs. Supports site management in the completion of Progress Notes to accurately reflect trainees’ progress Conducts formal assessments with manager to document progress of trainee.

 

  1. Provides Learning & Development team with regular feedback on the progress of the trainee with their training plan and completion of the program. Feedback includes review of progress notes and other paperwork for the paid trainees.

 

  1. Informs Learning & Development and/or Human Resources department of any sensitive information shared by ambassadors regarding their ability to meet expectations of the job.

 

  1. Communicates with key leaders and ambassadors to champion all training opportunities provided by the Learning and Development department.

 

  1. Supports management onsite with new ambassador onboarding and/or coaching ambassadors on soft and hard skill development.

 

  1. Facilitates on-boarding program. Acts as point of contact for onboarding, coordinating details with Human Resources to support new hire.

 

  1. Provides training and development support to ambassadors from different mission programs, as needed. Documents performance progress and communicates areas of opportunities.

 

  1. Works in partnership with department management to identify opportunities for ambassador engagement through practical worksite examples that effectively illustrate the skills and competencies covered in the quarterly Leader Step 1 training.

 

  1. Assists in the development of career pathway and departmental standard operational training including the development and updates of job aids and eLearnings,. Gains proficiency in all operational procedures of departments involved in the paid training program.

 

  1. Supports organizational initiatives.

 

  1. Maintains a safe, organized, efficient and neat work area. Safeguards company property and abides by all safety procedures.

 

  1. Participates in department meetings as scheduled. Contributes to the goals of the Learning & Development Team to meet or exceed performance measures

 

  1. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.

Qualifications

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Education:  L&D Trainer I and II: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Computer skills:  Email, Microsoft Office Systems, Excel

Certificates & Licenses: Must have car, valid CA Driver's License, and a driving record acceptable to GISD's insurance company.
