Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: Supports the organization’s mission by installing, testing and maintaining technology assets and ensuring the best practices of technology usage throughout the company.

 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Essential Functions Statements:

  1. Increase utilization of existing technologies by collaborating with multiple departments to develop new processes and refine existing processes.
  2. Research and develop new technologies that support existing processes and promote new process through the organization.
  3. Collaborate with Learning and Development as needed to develop procedures and training materials to support learning and effective use of new and existing technologies.
  4. Create reports as needed to support decision makers across the organization using PowerBI, Excel, Tableau, and other technologies as appropriate.
  5. Create automated processes using the Microsoft PowerPlatform, Python, SQL, PowerShell, and other technologies as appropriate.
  6. Maintains excellent working knowledge of and follows applicable current technology related policies, procedures, certification requirements, regulations, laws, trends and practices.
  7. Diagnoses, repairs and/or replaces non-performing software and hardware components as needed.
  8. Provides excellent customer service by utilizing the Help Desk system to accept, complete, document and update mid-to-high level service, software or equipment issues in a timely and collaborative manner.
  9. Completes all goals as assigned and in a timely and professional manner.
  10. Closely monitors performance of business technologies to make adjustments or recommendations for corrective action.
  11. Provide technical assistance for presentations, meetings, and group efforts as needed.
  12. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed by supervisor.
  13. Works independently and remain consistently productive on long term projects.
  14. Collects input from stakeholders and collaborate to achieve organizational goals, including surveys, training, and administration of new processes.
  15. Documents processes in standard organization procedure format for distribution within and outside of the department.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

Education: Associates degree from two-year college or university, preferred. Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Must have knowledge of computer hardware and software systems and programs, computer networks, network administration, network installation, computer troubleshooting, computer viruses and security, E-mail and internet programs, an understanding of the GISD economic and cultural environment.

 

Experience: Experience must demonstrate effective handling of a variety of priorities and timelines; attention to detail and accuracy in performing work; effective communication with diverse groups/individuals; effective customer service skills.

 

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully the following computer proficiency is (are) required:  Adobe Photoshop; Internet Explorer; Microsoft Access; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft PowerPoint; Microsoft Publisher; Microsoft Visio; Microsoft Word; See other required technology skills and qualifications identified under "Other Skills and Qualifications".

 

Certificates & Licenses: Valid California Driver’s License with driving record acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance. Network Administrator’s Certificate.

 

Other Requirements: Knowledge of and experience with: LANS/WANS; Windows Server Environment; Microsoft SQL Server; Microsoft Exchange; Internet Information Services; backup systems; network/workstation peripherals; print servers; firewalls, spam & antivirus hardware/software; HTML, Cascading Style Sheets; computer hardware (replacing hard drives, hardware drivers, etc.).
