Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Oversees the performance of the Community Employment Center or Mobile Employment Center. Ensures that clients are timely served by understanding their employment interests, identifying their skills and qualifications, guiding them towards development, and assisting them in their action plan toward placement into employment.

Guarantees that skill development workshops are offered regularly at employment centers and virtually so that job seekers can have the opportunity to grow in their skill, talent, and potential. Role models how to coach and assist clients in their job pursuits. Responsible for meeting annual goals in serving, assisting, offering Job Readiness Certificate program, and placing clients into employment.

Essential Functions Statements:

 

1. Supervises, trains, and ensures that Career Advisor I is equipped to successfully perform their job functions.

2. Promotes, schedules, and conducts Job Readiness workshops for clients and Goodwill Industry of San Diego County ambassadors. Suggests changes to curriculum whenever needed.

3. Builds relationships with community employers to identify employment opportunities for clients.

4. Builds relationships with education agencies to create development opportunities for clients.
5. Builds relationships with community agencies to provide wrap-around resources for clients.

6. Identifies and suggests innovative services and delivery strategies whenever needed.

7. Coordinates and organizes hiring events for community employers and clients.

8. Frequently communicates with Recruiters and Job Developers to understand how employment centers can support them.

9. Responsible for the overall success of the center by meeting weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual goals. Monitors progress on key performance indicators to identify trends and makes adjustments to meet target goals.

10. Travels to numerous locations within San Diego and Imperial counties with the Mobile Community Employment Center to provide employment services to different communities.

11. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

Education: AA, BA, or BS degree preferred.

 

Experience: Minimum of 3 years related experience.

 

Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills, MS Office, MS Project, email, internet.

 

Certificates and Licenses: Must have a valid CA driver’s license, proof of insurance and driving record acceptable by Goodwill’s insurance company.
