Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: Processes, sorts, cleans, tags, divides, stores donated goods and fills requests for product. Accepts donations on behalf of Goodwill. Provides excellent customer service to donors.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions Statement(s):

  1. Accurately and efficiently sorts different types of donations per category following all guidelines found in the Fixed Crew Training Manual.
  2. Safely and efficiently prepares and labels items for transport, according to guidelines found in the Fixed Crew Training Manual.
  3. Keeps work station clean and clutter-free at all times. Maintains donation processing tables in an organized, clutter-free manner. Maintains work station according to Kaizen (continual improvement) philosophy. This includes the safe moving of product and trash bins to designated areas as needed.
  4. Meets production standards and completes daily tally sheets.
  5. Cleans and tags product as needed according to the guidelines found in the Fixed Crew Training Manual.
  6. Inspects and tests certain small electrical appliances and determines their operability, for example, fans, radios, toaster, etc., as assigned.
  7. Accepts donations according to company guidelines found in the Fixed Crew Training Manual. This includes providing excellent customer service to donors; greeting, assisting with accepting donations, accurately completing donation receipts, when necessary politely refusing or referring donors to other locations and thanking each donor for every donation.
  8. Performs other miscellaneous tasks as assigned or directed.
  9. Safeguards all donations and company property from damage and theft. Treats all donations and company property with respect and care.
  10. Follows all safety rules and regulations and performs all assigned duties in a safe manner according to all company safety guidelines.
  11. North County Clearance Center: Crossed trained in the Clearance Center operations.

Qualifications

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

 

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.

 

Experience: Processor experience preferred.

 

Certificates & Licenses: Ability to become forklift certified preferred. (North County Clearance Center: ability to become forklift certified required).

 

Other Requirements: Ability to recognize name brand clothing and high quality merchandise preferred.
