Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Environmental and Employee Health & Wellness Engagement Coordinator plays a crucial role in developing, creating, and implementing engagement events and strategies that promote environmental sustainability initiatives with our ambassadors and the community, and programs and events to enhance employee health and wellness within the organization. This position requires a dynamic individual who is passionate about fostering a culture of well-being and sustainability while maintaining a positive impact on the environment.

Essential Functions Statements: 

 

Environmental Engagement: 

  1. Devises and executes initiatives to promote environmental responsibility with our ambassadors. Leads the Green Team.

  2. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement eco-friendly practices, such as recycling programs, community trash clean-ups, and energy conservation efforts.

  3. Organizes and leads environmental awareness campaigns and events both internally and in the community.

Employee Health & Wellness Engagement:

  1. Creates and manages programs and initiatives that support employee health, fitness, and mental well-being.
  2. Develops and executes wellness challenges, workshops, and activities to encourage a healthier lifestyle among employees.
  3. Provides resources and support for stress management and mental health awareness.
  4. Plans, coordinates, and executes engagement events related to both environmental sustainability, employee health and wellness, and employee recognition.
  5. Manages event budgets, logistics, and vendor relationships.
  6. Ensures events are engaging and align with the organization's goals.

Communication and Education:

  1. Communicates engagement initiatives and their impact effectively to all employees.
  2. Provides educational resources and materials on environmental sustainability and health & wellness.
  3. Collaborates with the internal communications team to promote events and initiatives.

Data Analysis:

  1. Collects and analyzes data to measure the effectiveness of engagement strategies and events.
  2. Uses data insights to refine and improve future initiatives.
  3. Prepares reports and presentations for management.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  1. Collaborates with internal stakeholders and external partners, including sustainability organizations and health professionals.
  2. Builds relationships with employees, management, and vendors to support engagement goals.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Health Promotion, or a related field (preferred), or equivalent experience.

 

Experience: Previous experience in event planning, sustainability, and/or health and wellness promotion. Strong project management and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting. Passion for environmental sustainability and employee wellbeing.

 

Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills. Complete proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint.

 

Certificates and Licenses: Must have a valid CA driver's license, proof of insurance and driving record acceptable by Goodwill's insurance company. Certification in areas such as wellness coaching or sustainability is an advantage.
